Travel and Live in Ecuador

I'm 32.
I'm married.
I have two children.
I live in Guayaquil, Ecuador.
I don't like Guayaquil and I'd rather be a fruit farmer in the country but I don't know anything about growing fruit.
And my wife won't live anywhere without a mall.
So I'm an English teacher.
Read about my adventures in Ecuador.

Ask me anything

I read that the government has determined all the dates of the public holidays in Ecuador until 2015. This is a truly revolutionary move because up until now no-one ever seems sure until a few days before whether a holiday will be mid-week, moved to a Friday or Monday or extended by an extra day or two to promote tourism.

Unfortunately in the last few years many small hotel owners have been taking advantage of the growing national appetite for travel and increasing their prices to ridiculous amounts for holidays so I think it is going to be even harder to get a good deal for these periods.
